Forgive me readers for I have sinned. It has been two weeks since posting a review and I couldn’t be more apologetic! 🙂
Over with that are we?
Let’s move on to bigger and better things. And by that I mean OCC Cosmetics!
I first got to try them at the NY Makeup Show and have fallen under an OBSESSIVE
fixation on the line ever since. Look at all those colors!
What it is:
“Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics started out in November, 2004 with just two lip balms, cult-favorites Tarred & Feathered. Ultra-sheer black and white tones respectively, they were designed to either darken and define or lighten and prime the lips, created in response to a über-natural trend in beauty, when even the most neutral of lipsticks was considered too much color.
The premise was simple: develop a complete line of professional quality cosmetics inspired by professional makeup solutions, not only for artists but for makeup enthusiasts everywhere. To set the brand apart in an already over-crowded marketplace meant committing to innovation in both colour and texture, as well as concept and selection. What this means to the consumer: A refreshing, gimmickless approach. No false claims, no empty promises, just great makeup.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is the line for those who colour outside of theirs. For when you’re over the counterâ„¢.“
Review (5 highest, 1 lowest):
Packaging: 4 out of 5 (very simple & to the point)
Price: 4 out of 5 (a little on the pricier side but well worth the money)
Quality: 5 out of 5
Overall: 4 out of 5
The product(s):

$10.00 each
If you can’t see: the colors are
(left to right, top to bottom)
auric, clove,
iced, slate (glitter),
clover, navy (glitter)

These swatches are done dry on bare skin.
Ooh and aah all around.
And they have nail polish!

$8.00
The green one (Wasabi) is the one that I have. These polishes are great on color pigmentation/collection and color selection but aren’t as thick as I’d like them to be. They’re a bit thin and runny for my liking.
Last but not least, who can live without
OCC Lip Tars?

in Grandma
$12.50 each
These go on very strong. I mean that in pigment and in amount as well. This swatch of mine is enough for three applications. If you’re looking for something high gloss – you might need to put clear gloss on top of this as it has more of a matte look.
Also great to use as a lip stain or to mix with other Lip Tars.

Verdict:
This is a great brand to have by your side. The most impressive product by them is the loose powder for eyes & the lip tars. I find it to be on the pricier side, but it is a green company, and it does need to be used sparingly as each tiny bit of this product packs a huge punch. Either way, y’all need to get to investing b/c the judge says so!
